WATER RATS 2008

CITRUS SALE FUNDRAISER

The citrus sale is the Water Rat team’s major fundraiser.  We need each family to try to sell three (3) boxes to help reach the minimum quantity needed for delivery. We sell grapefruit, navel oranges (not the sugar sweet), and mammoth pecans. The fruit comes from Texas where this season's crop is extra juicy amd sweet!

Probably you are at your limit with sales — gift wrap, magazines, and candy etc. to name a few.  But this sale is good for you — just think of all that Vitamin C, and the mammoth halves of pecans arriving just in time for Thanksgiving baking.

The cost for a box of 20 lbs. big, juicy ruby red grapefruit is $17.00.  The cost for a box of navel oranges $17.00. The cost for a 1-lb. bag of pecans is $11.00. The cost of a gift pack/holiday box $24.00. Checks must be made out to WRAT Parents Club. No cash please.

This year, we are offering some incentives for you to participate. The top seller in the drive will win a $75 gift certificate to the store of your choice. The second seller will win a $50 gift certificate, and the third seller will receive a $25 gift certificate. We will also have a draw prize of a $50 gift certificate to the store of your choice. To qualify for the drawing, you must sell at least 3 boxes. For every additional 3 boxes, you will receive another chance.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

Monday, November 3rd
SALE ENDS!  Sales envelope and total payment must be turned in at practice.  Please don’t turn in sales summary sheet. Save that for your records for delivery of the product. Use the Fruit/Pecan Sale Turn-in Form to turn in your payment. This date is not flexible as in the past years where the Red/Blue meet was known as the final date for turn-in. We need two weeks lead time to get the order on time.
Use the Fruit and Pecan Sale Turn In Form with payment.

Saturday, November 22nd (8-10 am)
Distribution of fruit and pecans at the YMCA

You can earn PET WRAT credit for helping with the distribution on Saturday morning.  We'll have two volunteer shifts from 5am - 7:30am and 7:30am - 10am and signups will be on the website in late October.

All orders placed must be picked up on Saturday, November 22, 2008, by 10 am.  If you will be out of town or unable to get to the YMCA by 10 am, please have someone else pick up your order.  There is no place to store the fruit at the YMCA so please remember to make arrangements for the delivery time, which will begin at 8 am.

Please direct any questions to Peter or Holly Mesavage (203-377-2831) or seadogco@optonline.net.  Thank you for your assistance in making this a successful fundraiser.
