Dance Faculty

Maria Francesconi…… Maria is a graduate of Virginia School of the Arts and The Catholic University of America,with a degree in Musical Theatre and Dance. She is a member of Dance Masters of America and the Actors Equity Assoc. Maria has taught and choreographed for dance schools all over the tri state area and is currently teaching at the Professional Performing Arts School in NY and Broadway Bound Kids in NY to name a few. Some of her professional credits include working under choreographer Joey Mcneely, Baayork Lee, performing in West Side Story the International Tour, Animal Crackers and Beehive. Dance Festival.

Lillian Fama…… a talented choreographer, Lillian is a native of Connecticut and began her training locally at Miss Vicki’s School of Dance and A Dancers Studio North Haven where she participated in numerous regional and national dance competitions. She continued her studies in NYC at Broadway Dance Center concentrating on Jazz, Hip Hop, and Tap with Chris Hale, Jim Clark, Frank Hatchett, Fernando, Bette Morrow, Leslie Feliciano and Rodney Moore. Ms. Fama has performed and choreographed in productions of 42nd Street, Damn Yankees, Annie and Annie Get your Gun to name a few and was a member of the Terpsichorean Dance Ensemble.

Tatiana Chisholm……Tatiana is a young and vibrant addition to the Family Y Dance Center. She brings a wealth of experience and excitement to our Hip Hop program. Tatiana has choreographed locally for St. Ambrose High School, Notre Dame High School, Kolbe Cathedral and recently choreographed a award winning first place competition piece for Dance Mode at Quinnipiac University where she was Head Choreographer. Additionally she is a Hip Hop instructor at Showbiz Dance School.

Jamie Howley……. A Cum Laude graduate from WCSU with a BS in Elementary Education and American Studies, Jamie will finish her Masters from Fairfield University in the fall. She comes to the Family Y with 10 years of extensive training in all areas of dance and has been teaching Ballet, Tap and Musical Theatre for 6 years locally. In addition to her dance training, Jamie is an accomplished gymnast and will be teaching many of our creative dance and pre school dance classes.

Guest Faculty - Lindsay Silverstein…… a graduate of University of Michigan, Lindsay began her training at the Westport Weston Family Y followed by D’Valda & Sirico Dance Centre where she was a Company Member for 7 years. In addition, she has trained under choreographers and dance instructors at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, including “So You Think You Can Dance’s” Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Wade Robinson and Dan Karaty. Lindsay participated in numerous regional and national dance competitions and has performed internationally. In addition, she is a Dance Educators of America National Platinum Award soloist in Jazz. At U of M, Lindsay was a member of the nationally ranked University of Michigan Dance Team and danced with the International Dance Company “2XS”. She is also a founder of the multi-cultural, co-ed hip hop team “Encore”. Her choreography has been showcased at Disneyworld, Disneyland, Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, and most recently at the International World Gymnaestrada in Austria.
