Mission Statement

The Westport Weston Family Y is a community-service organization which promotes positive values through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body, welcoming all people.

It is the policy of the Family Y to make membership available to all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or financial circumstances without discrimination.

Membership

The minimum term of the Contract for Membership is 12 months. Members who cancel their membership before the required 12 months are subject to a $75 early termination fee. Refunds are pro-rated from the end of the month in which cancellation was requested.

There are seven categories of membership in the Family Y:

Youth - age 0 to 15 years old
Student - age 16 to 22 years old
Adults - age 22 to 64 years old
Family I - One adult and child(ren)
Family II - Two adults and child(ren)
Senior - age 65 and over
Senior Couple - both adults age 65 and over

There are two types of membership in the Family Y:

Full Membership includes the use of the locker rooms, gyms, pools, whirlpool, sauna, our state of the art Fitness Center, as well as free babysitting while participating in Y activities (space available basis).
Health Center Membership included the full membership privileges plus the use of a private locker room for adults and seniors only, racquetball, squash or handball at no additional cost. Additional benefits include gym clothes, towels, steam room, sauna, exercise bike, and cable television.

All memberships require a joiner fee of $50 (adult and Family) or $25 (senior 65+or 16 - 22 student).

Membership dues may be paid annually or monthly. The Family Y accepts cash, checks, MasterCard, VISA and Discover. Payment can be arranged through bank r credit card draft.

 

Membership Cards

All members must bring their membership cards and pass card through the bar-code reader at the Service Desk to enter the Y.

 

Y of the USA "AWAY" Program

Members of the Family Y may visit other Y's participating in the "AWAY" (Always Welcome At the Y) program. Each Y sets its own policy, but most honor out-of state

 

Guest Pass

Non-members may purchase a single-use guest pass. Photo identification is required to purchase a guest pass. A guest may use up to three guest pass receipts towards the purchase of an annual membership. Guests are afforded the same privileges as members and are expected to conform to the Y's rules and regulations. Guest, like members are held to a code of conduct.

 

General Rules of Conduct

Family Y is a membership organization that values mutual respect, personal responsibility, caring, and honesty. In joining, members subscribe to Y policies and are expected to abide by the following guidelines and other rules as posted in the building.

Staff is responsible for enforcing Y guidelines and has the right to bar members and guest from the facility/program for violation of rules. Suspension or revocation of membership/guest privileges will occur only after consultation with the Executive Director or his/her designee. No refunds of fees will be made for revoked or suspended membership or guest fees.

 

Supervision

When families are present at the Family Y or the Mahackeno Outdoor facility, parents are responsible for the supervision of their children unless the children are enrolled in a scheduled, supervised activity. Parents are expected to help enforce Y rules.

 

Program Refunds

Should the Y need to cancel a program, a full refund or credit will be issued to the participant.

 

Program withdrawals

Program refunds or credits are only available for documented medical reasons and are prorated from the period that the corresponding program director is notified in writing. Should you choose to withdraw from a program for other reasons, you must notify the corresponding program director two weeks prior to start of the program session in writing to qualify for a credit or refund. All credits and refunds carry a 25% service charge. Please be aware that specific Y programs such as childcare and summer camps may have alternate refund/credit policies. Please consult the registration application for each to determine the details.

 

Registration Fees

All program and registration fees are non-refundable.
