Buses
Pick-up and drop-off at camp is a very busy time;
we recommend using the bus service.We have two bus
routes that make 3 stops each in the morning and
evening.You may sign up for either one-way or round-trip
transportation. Buses arrive at camp at approximately
9:00 am and leave at 4:30 pm. Shawnee and Mohegan bus
campers are supervised and play games until the 4:30 pm
all-camp dismissal.
Bus Service Policy:
- Each bus has limited seating. Spaces are filled on a first come first served basis.
- Mahackeno provides 2 regular staff members as bus monitors.
- Parents are responsible for their children until they board the bus in the morning and as soon as they are dropped off in the afternoon.
- Please be at the bus stop 5 to 10 minutes before the pick up or drop off time. A parent or guardian must be present at this time, and MUST SHOW proper identification to pick up children.
- If a parent fails to meet the bus at the scheduled drop off time the bus will return to Mahackeno with the camper. The camper will be brought to the office and a late fee may be incurred.
- The bus will not wait for any campers or parents at any stops.
- Pick-up and drop-off times and locations may be subject to
change. All parents will be notified immediately of any changes.
- If a parent is consistently late picking up their camper their space on the bus will be terminated.

Sunny Lane Drop Off and Pick Up
If you choose to drop/pick up your camper daily,
you must use the Sunny Lane entrance. Drop off
begins at 8:55 am for all units. Our smiling
staff greets each camper daily and the children
walk to LOGS to begin there day. The path is
lined with specialist and directors to guide
campers to our morning program. Dismissal starts
at 3:45pm for Shawnee and Mohegans and 4:15pm
for Lakota, Cayuga, Apache, Ranger , LIT's and
CIT's. CIT's are dismissed
with the group they will be assigned to during
their training. Please note that NO CAMPER will
be released from Camp Mahackeno without proper
authorization. Please have photo identification
ready when picking up camper.
Siblings
Campers in our Shawnee and Mohegan units who
have older siblings in Lakota, Cayuga, Apache
and Ranger, may enroll in our
Sibling program free of charge. From 3:45pm to
4:15pm the siblings group plays quiet games or
goes to the playground, then joins the 4:30 dismissal
at the pick up circle.
