Randee Bok
Senior Director
Mahackeno Outdoor Center and Community Programs

Randee began her career in camping at the Westport Weston Family Y's Mahackeno Outdoor Center the summer of 1994. She was hired as a Special Care's Counselor and took over as the Special Cares Director the first week of camp. Devoted to attending to the needs of all campers, Randee decided to make Camping and the Family Y her career.

After finishing her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Randee went on to receive her Bachelors in Liberal Arts with minors in Psychology, Sociology and Public Health.

During Randee's college years she worked part-time with the Westport Parks and Recreation Department. Her passion was spent working on Recreational Programs for children with Special Needs. Once she graduated from college she began a full-time position with ARC of Greenwich (Association of Retarded Citizens), supporting children with Special Needs in Summer Camps all over Fairfield County. Overseeing, training and supervising more than 100 staff and placing hundreds of children in summer camps brought her back to the Y mission.

In 2000 after leaving ARC of Greenwich and beginning her Y career at the New Canaan YMCA, Randee had the opportunity to expand her knowledge and training to advance in the camping field. She holds certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard, YMCA certified Swim Instructor, Connecticut State Certified Archer, YMCA Day and Resident Camp Director, American Red Cross Babysitter's Instructor, CPR, First Aid, AED and Oxygen Administration.

Mahackeno means so much to Randee that she married her husband, Keith, in September 2003 right on the grounds of the Mahackeno Outdoor Center, the first wedding for the Westport Weston Family Y.
