Camp Mahackeno is a 32-acre preserve on the
shores of the Saugutuck River only 2 miles from downtown Westport Connecticut.
Mahackeno houses the Westport Weston Family Y's summer day camp program,
serving almost a thousand youths each summer. The facility has many
amenities, including the following:
Beck's Lodge
Beck's Lodge, located on the upper part of campus,
offers a wide variety of uses. The lodge houses
our infirmary, which is home to our camp nurse
or EMT. Our camp Nurse or EMT is on camp 8:30
am to 4:30 pm, and we also have a Physician on
call at all times. The Lodge also houses our
Special Cares program, camp store, pool lobby
and locker rooms, and a magnificent fieldstone
fireplace can be found in the center of Beck's
Lodge.
Outdoor Swimming Pool
Our outdoor Swimming pool is located on the upper
part of campus, and located next to Beck's Lodge.
The swimming pool allows campers to swim daily
under instruction and on Fridays recreational
swim. An Aquatics Director supervises the pool
and Certified lifeguards are on duty at all times.
Waterfront
Our waterfront is located on the upper part of campus, and is located on Lee's Pond. Fishing and Canoeing
are only activities that happen here, and is supervised by a Waterfront Director and Certified Lifeguards.
Sports Fields
Our sports fields are on the upper part of camp
and consist of the following: baseball field,
Soccer Field, Volleyball court, multi-purpose
court, archery ranges and basketball courts.
The Long House
The Long House, located on lower campus offers
loads of fun activities. This includes, arts
and crafts, a nature area, leathermaking/woodworking
and also space for rainy days at Camp Mahackeno.
Rotary Pavilion
The Rotary pavilion is located on the lower part of camp, only a short walk from the long house. The
pavilion houses our theater department, which is where the campers practice for the shows they put on
for Family Nights. The Rotary Pavilion also offers space for rainy days and rentals all year.
