Camp Mahackeno is a Day Camp located on the shores
of the Saugutuck River. We offer four two-week
sessions for boys and girls entering grades
one through nine. Founded in 1938, Mahackeno
has provided the youth of Westport and surrounding
communities a camp that keeps your camper wide-eyed,
laughing and learning all summer long.
Mahackeno understands the importance of providing
an appropriate summer camp for your children.
It is for this reason we have gone to great lengths to ensure Mahackeno
summer camps provide stimulating and challenging programming in the
safest and most comfortable environment. Campers have a wide variety
of activities here at camp. The program schedules are balanced to meet
each of our camper's needs. These balanced schedules mean many opportunities
for enrichment and success here at Mahackeno.
Mahackeno employs a summer camp staff of more than 100 qualified, committed, and caring individuals who have the best interests of your children at heart. Along with previous experience working with children, staff members receive an additional twenty hours of training to ensure each understands our standards and expectations. Your children will be at camp that meets or exceeds the State of Connecticut and American Camping Association standards. In addition, there is a registered nurse or EMT on duty to attend to any medical needs of our campers or staff.
Our facility and equipment are well-maintained and inspected by the Westport Fire Marshall and Health Department, State of Connecticut Health Department, and the American Camping Association. Our summer programs have been developed and improved over the years by professionals with numerous years of experience in the fields of physical education, outdoor education, health and wellness training, childcare, and education.
We look forward to seeing you this summer and
having you and your camper(s) become a part
of our 70 years of tradition.
