Annual Campaign

Annual Campaign for Giving

image The Westport Weston Family Y is a community of people - all ages and abilities, different backgrounds and faiths, various professions and income levels - who come together to develop their spirits, minds and bodies in a welcoming, nurturing environment. And no one is ever turned away regardless of ability to play or capacity to pay.

To ensure access for all who want to participate in programs, the Family Y provides financial assistance to individuals and families unable to afford membership or program fees. And it also collaborates with social services organizations in the area to extend the benefits of Family Y membership and programming to all segments of the community.

Not all of our costs are covered by membership and program fees, so we rely on the generosity of our Y members and supporters to help us to fulfill our obligations in the community.

What We Do and How
The Family Y enriches the entire community by developing and nurturing the potential its youth, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. The values represented by the Family Y today - Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Honesty - are those espoused by Edward T. Bedford, Westport businessman and philanthropist, when he founded the Family Y in 1923. We are a mission-based non-for-profit that assists and provides services to people on a daily basis in the communities of Westport and Weston. By collaborating with local nonprofits, we are helping individuals and families which serves to enrich quality of life in the community at large.
