The WWFY has launched the 2010 Strong Kids Campaign to raise money for its charitable work.

Times remain tough and some of our neighbors need our help. Right now the social service agencies in Westport and Weston are providing emergency assistance to more than 1,200 families. They need help with the cost of housing, the expense of heating a home or putting a meal on the table.

Our Family Y is a non-profit public service organization. It is our mission to help those in need, so this year we want to be sure that we can provide programs and services to any Westport or Weston resident who needs our help. We want to be able to offer subsidized family memberships and financial assistance for the School Age/Child Care programs, summer programs at Hafaday and Camp Mahackeno, dance and gymnastics classes, among others. But most important, we want to be able to offer Water Rat team membership to children regardless of their parents ability to pay.
