The Big Meets Are Here!
The month of February is the start of our BIG MEETS!
The weekend of February 12-13 is the Connecticut YMCA Swimming Championship. 11&12-year-olds swim on Saturday the 12th and 9&10-year-olds swim on Sunday February 13.
In this meet, swimmers are only allowed to enter 3 events and they cannot swim a 50/100 of the same stroke, except for freestyle. There are relays in this meet too, so hopefully everyone will get a chance to be in one!
The meet is being held at East Hartford High School because of the bubble collapsing at Cheshire. At this moment, they are processing the entries and will get back to us to let us know more about the warm up and starting times of each session.
Our other big meet of the month is the Connecticut Regional Championship the weekend of February 25-27. There are four clubs hosting the meet and we will not know where we are going until all entries are in. There are no minimum time standards for 50 yard events for U12 and no minimum time standards for 100 yard events for 13/O. Swimmers cannot swim an event for the first time at this meet.
13 and over swimmers will be swimming at a meet at Greenwich YMCA on February 5-6.
