Senior News—October 7
We continue to have strong training sessions. As we build the base aerobically, we are also looking to build the base mentally. Today, we spoke of this exact item and how and why this is an important facet to one’s success.
Now that we are getting into the full practice schedule, I remind all once again of the necessity of taking care of oneself. Making the effort to getting good rest and just as important, filling the body with high test fuel needs to be incorporated into everyone’s daily routine. There will be nights when one is up later than usual and hopefully these will be the exception rather than common practice. That is fact. Do not let that deter you from staying on track with your training.
We are incorporating the use of the training equipment more into practice. Too many people are not bringing their equipment. That needs to change.
We have a few dates I wanted everyone to be aware of with regard to some dry land activities and other items. Also, note with the long weekend, we have NO practice schedule changes and we will follow the regular practice schedule. A few clarifications: Monday and Friday mornings = Senior I & II 530-7am, while Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday = Senior I 515-7am. Note that Wednesday is later than the posted time due to the later opening of Staples High School.
Saturday, October 8th: Swimmers need to bring sneakers as we will be using them. Also, Senior I, we
will be doing dryland after practice AT Staples High School – specifically the track area. We will load up the cars and head over. Swimmers should plan to be picked up around 945am. Proper apparel is required.
Wednesday, October 12th: Senior II dryland – 530-6pm – Spinning Class. Proper apparel: t-shirt, shorts, sneakers and water bottle.
Friday, October 14th: Parents Social. Please remember to RSVP. I look forward to seeing you all there as it is nice to connect off the pool deck.
Thursday, October 20th: Senior I – No AM – Dryland 545-630pm – Spinning.
