One Mile Open Water Swim at Compo Beach
The opt-out date is fast approaching for the Westport Weston Family Y's 32nd Annual Point to Point open water swim. This year, the coaches want all of the Water Rats to participate in one of the summer's most anticipated events! See details below:
NEW FOR WATER RAT SWIMMERS ONLY:- Swimmers ages 9-12 years old can participate in an approximate 500 yard swim along the shore line at 9:00am. Please have a conversation with your coach if you wish to do this instead of the full mile race.
All Swimmers ages 9 and up are assumed to be swimming in the Point to Point, so if you can't go or do not wish to swim, please OPT OUT!
We are planning on having a team cookout on the beach immediately following the event, details from your coach and parent reps to come.

Time: 8:30am check in, 9:30am start
Distance: Approx 1 mile
Starting Point: By the cannons at Compo Beach, Westport, CT
Rain Date: Sunday July 11, 2010

Age Groups: 10-12 years, 13-14 years, 15-17 years, 18-24 years, 25-29 years, 30- 34 years, 35-39 years, 40-44 years, 45-49 years, 50-54 years, 55-59 years, 60-64 years, 65-69 years, 70-74 years, 74 years+
Awards: Imprinted mugs for 1st, 2nd, 3rd male and female finisher in all age groups/Race T-shirt awarded to all participants

Rules:
All participants must wear swim cap supplied by the race committee
Goggles may be used, however use of snorkels, fins, wet suits, or other equipment will not be permitted.
The use of any lifesaving support devices will be cause for disqualification
Swimmers must complete the entire course to be considered for an award
All entrants under 18 must have parents’/guardians’ permission
All swimmers must report to the results table after their swim
Entry Fee: $35 pre entry (received before July 10, 2010) $40 day of race ($25 for Water Rat Swimmers- paid out of USA Swimming accounts)
