Letter From the Family Y
David Cohen on the Swim Team's Transition
Dear Water Rat Parents,
My name is David Cohen and I am the VP of Operations at the Westport Weston Family Y. I have met many of you. For many others, please let me introduce myself. I have been at the Family Y for nine years. For the ?rst six years, I was the Senior Director of Child Care. Since moving into this position, I have gained a great appreciation for all that the Family Y has to offer. One of the really impressive components of this organization is the swim team. During this transition, and into our future, I will ensure that the tradition of excellence carries on.
As you know, our Senior Director of Aquatics and our Head Swim Coach are moving on at the end of April. Plus, the Aquatic Director managing swim lessons is going back to school full-time. So, as I hire the next leader in aquatics, there is some ?exibility in creating a position that best suits the team, the programs and the Y.
The new position, Senior Director of Aquatics and Competitive Swimming, will report to me. I will be very attentive to the person
