JAG News, March 28

The Spring/Summer schedule is now posted online! Please check it out!
To help you organize and figure out what is going on, I have comprised a list for you to check off!
1) Last day of winter schedule practices is next Thursday, March 29.
2) Last day of winter practices for swimmers going to Y New England’s is Friday, March 30.
a) Practice will be 5:30-6:30 that night
3) There is NO practice the week of APRIL 2!
4) There will be a stroke clinic Monday-Thursday, April 9-12
a) 10+U will practice 5-6:00 pm
b) 11+O will practice 6-7:00 pm
5) There is NO practice the week of APRIL 16
6) The Spring schedule will begin Monday April 23.
7) Recognition Night is Friday April 27 at Bedford Middle School, 6 pm

This past weekend, the JAG team had 12 swimmers competing in the CT AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS at Wesleyan University. We had TREMENDOUS results! J
1) Marissa Healy was a double winner! She won the 50 Fly with a new team record of 30.07. She also won the 100 Fly with a time of 1:09.41. These swims qualified Marissa for the ZONE TEAM, which is the highest level of competition for age group swimmers.
2) John McNab also qualified for the ZONE TEAM by coming in 3rd in the 100 IM (1:12.94) and 4th in the 100 Breast (1:23.29). John scored a total of 94.5 points in the 6 events he swam!
3) Olivia Utter and Andrew Yu were alternates for the ZONE TEAM!
4) The team of Esme Hunter, Olivia Utter, Marissa Healy, and Michelle Kennedy finished 2nd in the state in the 200 and 400 yd Freestyle Relays. They were 3rd in the 200 and 400 yd Medley Relays.
5) In one of the closest and most exciting finishes at the meet, the team of John McNab, Sean Rogers, Dorian Phillips, and Andrew Yu finished 3rd in the 200 yd Freestyle relay with a time of 1:59.94!!!!
6) The 9+10 year old girls scored a team total of 348 points and the boys earned 307.5 points.
7) 9 year old Esme Hunter swam in 6 events and earned 27 points. She lead off the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 35.0, which was the fastest 9 year old split in the meet. She had the fastest 9 year old time in the 100 Back and 100 IM and was second fastest in 200 IM.
8) 9 year old Lily Kernaghan placed 8th in the 50 Back and 9 year old Mathis DeVos placed 11th in the 50 Breast.

Our last meet of the short course season is Y New England’s next weekend at Harvard. We have 19 swimmers from the JAG teams going. GO WRATS!!!!
