Three longtime and leading Westport and Weston families have joined together to demonstrate their deep commitment to and focus community support for the proposed new Westport Weston Family Y at Mahackeno. The three families are serving as co-chairs for the "Imagine the Possibilities" capital campaign that will help to raise the funds to make Mahackeno happen.

The campaign family co-chairs are Ginger (Gault) and Jim Donaher, Nancy and Sam Gault, Bill Mitchell, and Robin Tauck. Underscoring the multi-generational commitment of these families, William Gault and Arthur Tauck are serving as the campaign’s honorary chairpersons.

Each Gault, Mitchell and Tauck family member recognizes that the Family Y has played a positive role in their lives over the generations. Like many other families in the area, they cannot imagine Westport, Weston and the surrounding communities without a Family Y and understand the need to create a new Y that will assure its programs and services will continue to meet growing community needs.

When the family members assumed responsibility for this fundraising initiative they issued a joint statement: "For more than 80 years, the Family Y has been helping to build strong families, which make for a strong community. It is now time for our families to help build a strong Family Y; a facility that will serve future generations. A new Family Y at Mahackeno will be a one-of-a-kind facility in a spectacular location that will enhance this venerable organization’s ability to accommodate family activities. We are proud to be associated with a project that will become one of the true jewels of this community. It is an honor to have the opportunity to give back to this community organization in such a meaningful way."

Reaching out to those who are committed to advancing a sense of community, the family co-chairs have already inspired donors to step forward with significant contributions for this project. Because the Gaults, Mitchells and Taucks recognize that this is the most challenging fund development effort in the history of the Westport Weston Family Y, they look forward to joining with other families in the area to advance a campaign that will serve to strengthen the ability of the Family Y to meet the needs and expectations of the members, users and neighbors - now and in the future.
